Sung Eucharist and Choral Evensong at St Mary Redcliffe on 8th April 2018

Harlequin Singers will be the guest choir on the Sunday after Easter at “the fairest, goodliest, and most famous parish church in England.”, according to Queen Elizabeth I (we agree). St Mary Redcliffe is indeed fair and goodly and also has wonderful acoustics that we’ll be making the most of.  We’ve got a lovely programme for both Sung Eucharist at 9.30am, and for Choral Evensong at 6.30pm.

Choral Eucharist, 9.30am

  • Sanctus/Benedictus & Agnus Dei from Tallis – Mass for 4 voices
  • Motet: Stanford – Beati quorum via
  • Gloria & Credo: Merbecke (unison)
  • Alleluia chant (we will get copies of this, hopefully soon)
  • Hymns (tbc)

Evensong, 6.30pm

  • Introit: Parry – My soul, there is a kingdom
  • Preces and responses: Philip Cooke set 2
  • Evening Service: Brewer in D
  • Anthem: Haydn – Insanae et vanae curae
